Unit 5 Music第一节教学设计

教学目的、要求:

知识目标:熟悉掌握本课新单词和词组的意思;帮助理解阅读文本。

2. 技能目标:锻炼快速阅读能力,理解文章大意;锻炼详细阅读能力,提取、筛选和重新组织文章中的信息。

3.情感态度目标:培养学生对音乐的了解,增加对音乐的兴趣,培养学生合作精神。

4. 学习策略目标:通过课堂讨论学习用英语与同学和老师沟通,通过课后作业了解利用计算机资源进行学习。

5.文化意识目标:了解与音乐有关的知识,以及有关乐队的资料。

教学重点及难点:

教学重点:理解文章文本,让学生学习更多与音乐有关的知识,了解Monkees的发展。

教学难点:通过细节阅读对文章中的信息进行提取、筛选和重组。

Step1. Warming up (13m’)

Activity1. Brain-storming (2m’)

T: Good morning, class. Today we are going to talk about an interesting topic --- music. Do you like music?

S: Yes

T: How much do you know about music? Can you tell about the different kinds of music?

S: Pop, rock, jazz, country music, classical music…

T: Well, very good. Besides those kinds of music, there are still other kinds of music. Now, I will show you more. Do you know rap? Rap means说唱,rapper就是进行说唱表演的人,rap music is a kind of music. Orchestra 管弦乐队,hip-hop, blue music is a sad and slow music created by Africa-American, flock music 是民间音乐。

[设计说明]:通过学生熟悉的音乐知识引入本单元的话题音乐,继而直接引入音乐的种类,扩大学生的知识量。

目标: A,B,C 层学生积极参与欣赏和判断

Activity2. Listen and guessing (5m’)

T: now, turn to page33, look at the pictures, read the captions and listen to the different kinds of music. See if you can guess which music matches with which picture.

T: Ok, these kinds of music are very beautiful, have you matched? Now, let’s check it.

S…

T: Yes, you are right. I’m sure you will really enjoy yourselves after listening to all these beautiful music.

[设计说明]:同学让学生听音乐的方法来选择音乐,这样不仅可以提高学生的兴趣,同时也直接用感官刺激使学生们能更容易地知道各种音乐的不同。

目标: A. 层次学生能用英语词汇正确说出

B. C 层次学生能用英语词汇说出4---5 

Activity3. Discussion (6m’)

T: What kinds of music do you like better, Chinese or Western, classical or modern? Why? And how does music make you feel? Now, 3 minutes for you to discuss with your partner.  

T: ok, time is up. Who’d like to talk the first question and share your opinions with others?

S1: (possible answer) I like Chinese because I think Chinese music is easy to understand. It is our culture. 

S2: (possible answer) I like classical music because it is serious and make people inspired. It can last long.    

S3:…

T: Well done. Now come to next question. Who want to talk about? Any volunteer?

S4: (possible answer) music enriches my life, and make me feel relaxed, pleasant, funny, happy when listening to music. 

S5: ….

T: yes, music plays an important role in our life and makes our life beautiful. There is saying: Without music, life is a journey through a desert.

[设计说明]:通过讨论的方法促进学生之间的合作,锻炼学生的口语。结合大家的意见将问题得到进一步地讨论,让学生能阐述自己的观点。

目标: A,B 层次学生能用句子表达连贯的意思。

       C层次的学生能使用短语表达

Step2. Pre-reading (5m’)

T: Have you heard about any of the famous bands in the world? List some if you can.

S: …..

T:Yes, good. Now, I will show you some pictures see whether you know the name of the band?

S: SHE, 五月天。

T: do you know them? This band consists of 12 women, called 女子12乐坊。They are very famous, each one can play different kind of instrument. Next picture, do you know the name?

S: backstreet boy. West life. The Beatles

T: this one you know? The band consists of 4 men: Davy, Mike, Micky, Peter. Ok, let me tell you, the band of monkees. Do you know anything about the monkees?

S: no

T: it’s doesn’t matter. Today, we are going to learn about the band. The monkees band is the most popular band in the USA from 1966 to 1968!

[设计说明]:通过现在学生们喜欢的乐队入手,将话题引到阅读中所提到的乐队。学生们对流行的乐队很感兴趣,讨论的积极性也大大提高。

目标: A,B,C,层次学生能参与到猜名称的练习,C层次学生能在解释中了解内容。

Step3. While-reading (20m’)

Activity1. Skimming (5m’)

T: turn to page 34, the band that wasn’t, read this passage quickly then do some choices. Five minutes for you……. Ok, let’s check the answer. The first question which one you choose?

S: d

T: right. The second question?

S: c

T: the last question?

S: d

T: very done.

[设计说明]:本步骤旨在训练学生的快速阅读技巧和快速提取所需信息的能力。

Activity2. Scanning (5m’)

T: now, I want you to scan this passage again with the exercise 1 on page 35. Five minutes for you…….. Let’s check it.

S: the first one matches D, the second one matches E, the third one matches A, the fourth one matches B, the last one matches C.

Activity3. Careful reading (8m’)

T: right. Read this passage again; write down the main ideas of each paragraph. The first one is done for you. Pay attention to the top sentence of each paragraph. Eight minutes for you……ok, have you written down? Who want to have a try?

T: good. Now, let check it.(put the correct answer on ppt)

Activity4: true or false (2m’)

Do the exercise true or false. Then check the answer, and correct the wrong part. 

(1)The band began as a TV show.  T

(2). The TV organizers had looked for five musicians who were lovely and who could make good music.   F

(3). Each week the group that was called “The Monkees” would play a song or two written by themselves.   F

(4) The band broke up in 1970, but reunited in the mid-1980s.    T

(5) In 1999, they produced a new record to celebrate their time as band .    T

[设计说明]这部分是阅读中的细节阅读部分,这三个活动中的问题设置目的在于训练学生的细节阅读技巧,例如提取概括信息,重组信息以形成自己对文章的理解等。此外,这部分活动让学生能从阅读中知道Monkees乐队的发展情况。

目标:A,B,C,层次学生能够参与到读的活动。

      A层次的学生准确完成所有练习

      B层次的学生完成大部分

      C层次的学生能对号入座完成时间匹配题

Step4 summary (6m’)

Activity1.fill in the blank (3m’)

T: we have read the passage for three times, now; do the exercise fill- in the blank. 2 minutes for you. ….. Have you finished? Let’s read it together.

Summary

If we are honest with ourselves, most of us have dream of being famous sometimes in our lives. Most musicians often meet and form a band. Sometimes they play in the street to passers-by                    so that they can earn some money and this also gives them a chance to realize their dreams. There was once a band started in a different way. The musicians of whom the band was formed                                    played jokes on each other as well as based on played music, whose music and jokes were loosely “The Beatles”. Their exciting performances were copied by other groups. “The Monkees” played their own instrument and wrote their own music. Though it broke up in 1970, it reunited in the mid-1980s and it is still popular today.   

Activity2. forming a band  (3m’)

T: ok, since we have learned this passage, are you interested in forming your own band ? now work in group of four and discuss the basic information when forming a band such as name , member ,role and the way to give performance

Step5: homework (1m’)

1. Copy the new words for three times

2. Finish exercise 1, 2 in the part of learning about language

[设计说明]:第一个作业是让学生们对这篇文章的生词有个系统的记忆总结。

第二个作业主要是加强学生们对生词的运用。
